A brand new apartment complex in Hamilton is set to be released to market this month.
The Stevens Group development at 114 Tudor Street is on the site of the former taxi co-op headquarters and will have three street frontages.
Rick Gittins, of Gittins Property, is marketing One14 Tudor off the plan and said it was set to be “Hamilton’s premier apartment complex”.
It is positioned on the other side of the road to most recent development Atrium, which proved popular in the marketplace. DJB Developments built 27 apartments within the footprint of the former RSL then four apartments and two townhouses on the site of historic Anzac House.
One14 Tudor will comprise 31 apartments over four levels with two commercial suites on the ground floor.
Mr Gittins expected apartment size, location within close proximity to Beaumont Street and Newcastle’s Central Business District as well as its “upmarket” design to prove key selling factors.
“They could have got more apartments in the complex but instead decided to go with larger apartments,” Mr Gittins said.
“For a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment the internal space is around 100 square metres. Most are probably 80 square metres, so these are 20 per cent larger.
“The four apartments on the penthouse level all have their own terraces which range from 50 to 115 square metres, as well as their own private gardens.”
He said the complex had been designed for the owner-occupier and downsizer market and interest had already proven strong.
Only expressions of interest are being taken at this stage but Mr Gittins reported already 100 registrations had been made.
The breakdown of the apartments is four three-bedroom apartments and 27 with two bedrooms.
All have two bathrooms, large living spaces and one or two parking spaces.
The penthouse apartments have views of the city.
The display suite for One14 Tudor will be on the ground floor of Beaumont on Beaumont and opens on September 15.
Apartment pricing will start from $615,000.
