DOUBLE RESULT: Both apartments in this Merewether complex were bought prior to auction.
A local businesswoman who loved the aspect of a three-bedroom apartment in Merewether’s Hillcrest Road ended up buying the residence under it as well.
George Rafty, of First National Newcastle City, marketed the top-floor apartment in a complex of two but sold both for a combined total of $2.2 million before the property’s auction scheduled for November 24.

It came after the $3.1 million sale of a block of four units in a Bar Beach complex opposite Empire Park.
That property on the corner of Bar Beach Avenue and Brooks Street was bought by a local builder who intends to build a luxury home in its place.
