It is still the second-highest sale result for the popular inner city suburb, positioned close to the harbour.
Before the sale of 16 McMichael Street in June last year, the previous highest result for Maryville was $1.177 million, according to Australian Property Monitors data.
That price was paid for a home in Estell Street in 2015.
Both McMichael Street homes were brand new, built over two storeys with four bedrooms, outdoor entertaining areas featuring built-in barbecues on each level plus an inground pool.
First National Newcastle City’s George Rafty marketed both residences, which were built by Paddington Properties.

Australian Property Monitors data shows the median sale price in Maryville has risen from $497,000 in 2014 to $752,000 last year. It records growth of 24.6 per cent in 2017 and 2.3 per cent in 2018.
John and Sheryl Nisner, who also own landmark Newcastle property Bella Vista in Mayfield, have sold their house on The Hill.
The restored circa 1890 residence at 7 High Street was purchased for $2.15 million by a Northern Beaches buyer who has a local business and loved the coastal lifestyle offered by Curragh. It was jointly marketed and sold by Michael Kirwan of River Realty and Darren Penn of Ray White Newcastle.
PRDnationwide report the popularity of Merewether’s sought-after Rowan Crescent continues with the $1.65 million off-market sale to a client on their database being their third for the street in the past 10 months.
They registered sales of $2.09 million in March last year and $1.55 million in December for the tightly held location.
Also proving sought after was a four-bedroom residence in Charlestown's Timbercrest Chase, which was marketed by Creer Property’s Gary Jones and was secured within its first week on the market for $1 million.
A four-bedroom home on nearly 1000 square metres of land at 113 Bolwarra Park Drive in Bolwarra Heights has sold for $580,000.
A four-bedroom, split-level home on a bush block at 5 Slade Close in Rankin Park sold for $600,000.
In Merewether, a two-bedroom top-floor unit within close proximity to the beach at 20 Helen Street sold for $570,000.
