Australian Trampolinist Ty Swadling presented to a group of up and coming Hunter Academy of Sport surf lifesavers about sacrifices, communication and the qualities it takes to be a leader in their chosen sport.

Swalding has just returned from nationals where he won four gold medals, a fitting example of determination and hard work to pass onto the next wave of aspiring athletes.
Recently, a long list of ex-Academy athletes have joined Swadling in giving up their time to educate the younger generation in the region including Sam Poolman (netball), Brendan Sexton (Triathlon), Kate Jenner (Hockey) and Clayton Zane (football).
"The young athletes look up to their former Hunter Academy representatives who are now competing on the world stage and we're fortunate enough to have some of these role models doing great things who continue to give back and inspire the next generation," Hunter Academy of Sport CEO Brett O'Farrell said
"All of these athletes started their journey in a Hunter Academy Talent Program and with Tokyo around the corner and a few Hunter Academy Alumni in the running for team selection, it's an exciting time to be involved in sport."
Other ex-athletes doing great things on the world stage include Ryan Callinan, our lawn bowlers seek guidance from gold medallist Natasha Scott and our softballers are currently watching one of their coaching staff Callum Beashel in green and gold competing in WBSC Men's Softball World Championship in Europe.
All of which have spent time developing the region young athletes.
Locally, success has continued for current Hunter Academy Athletes this week with hockey player Bradley Fletcher and past athlete Bianca Cheetham named in the NSW under-21 hockey squads.
