While Lime is yet to launch in NSW, the safety event was an opportunity for the company to showcase the Generation 3 scooter.
Lime's Director of Government Policy and Strategy, Mitchell Price, said the event aimed to give Newcastle an insight into exactly what riders can expect and provide a glimpse of how Lime "will revolutionise urban mobility across Australia".
"Newcastle is the nation's smartest and most innovative city, recognised for its advanced technology," Mr Price said.
Lime recorded more than one million scooter rides in the first six months of operating in Brisbane.
