Howard was part of the NSW Sky Blue side that had four wins, a loss and a draw to finish on 19 points in the points-decided tournament.
Barnsley Public School's Emma Dundas was part of the NSW Navy Blue side that finished fifth.
Five boys from the Hunter played in the concurrently held boys championships.
Isaac Preston Poole and Will Dobson, of Floraville Public School; Oscar Morrison, of Samuel Gilbert PS; and Max Miller, of Wallsend South PS were part of the NSW Sky Blue side that finished sixth, while Jesse Hill of Kahibah PS was part of NSW Navy Blue that finished fifth.
Polding PSSA touch winners
St Catherine's Singleton students Molly Thomas and Alex Neyland won gold meals playing for Polding at the NSW PSSA Primary Touch Championships in Mudgee last week.
Polding defeated Sydney North 2-0 in the grand final of the week-long tournament contested by 13 teams.
St Pius cleans up
The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle held its basketball championships at Broadmeadow last week.
St Peters Maitland defeated St Joseph's Lochinvar 20-16 In the boys year 7/8 division, while in the girls St Peter's defeated St Pius in a thrilling extra time game 29-28. St Pius defeated St Clare's Taree 45-21 in the boys year 9/10 division, and they also defeated St Peter's Maitland 47-16 in the girls division.
The winners will represent the Diocese in the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Championships at Penrith later this year.
