Fans of the 1978 movie, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, can look forward to revisiting all of the musical's hit songs, including Grease is the Word, Greased Lightning, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Sandy and You're the One That I Want.
Grease, which originally took to the stage in Chicago in 1971, follows the story of greaser Danny Zuko and wholesome Sandy Dumbrowski during their last year at Rydell High School.
The director of this production, Natalie Eva, has cleverly adapted the script to bring the audience a fresh mash-up of a classic musical with a 2019 twist.
"The casting process for this show was tough, as we were inundated with so many talented individuals of all ages," Ms Eva said.
"It was outstanding and we were so grateful to be able to cast 59 of those incredible artists in this production."
Previous productions:
The story follows Danny (played by Freddie Hellier) and Sandy (Rosie Jenkins) who, after spending a romantic summer together, go their separate ways, only to be unwittingly reunited at Rydell High.
With Danny's tough-boy image on the line, he cruelly casts Sandy aside.
Heartbroken and alone, Sandy is welcomed into the Pink Ladies, which includes Rizzo (Helena Esposito), Jan (Zamika Grant), Frenchy (Abbey Jackson), Marty (Shelby Thorburn) and the newest addition, Josie (Anneka Holland).
Danny, and his pals, Kenickie (Isaac Harley) and the T-birds - Roger (Connor Logan), Sonny (Lachlan Knight), Doody (Dylan Vermuyten) and the newest member, Archie (Isaac Nakhoul) - set out to dominate Rydell, eager for their final year to be over.
However, the heart wants what the heart wants, and Sandy and Danny cannot stop thinking about each other.
What unfolds is a series of events that sees the two key characters go through a substantial transition.
The creative team for the production also includes assistant director Rebecca Holland, choreographer Jaylah Nakhoul, assistant choreographer Bella Dash (who also plays Cha Cha), vocal coaches Jayne and Brigette Johnston, and cast mentor Brett Perkins.
Grease will run from Friday, September 27, to Saturday, October 12, at The Grove Theatre, in North Road, Wyong.
There will be 13 performances, including midweek matinees. Tickets are selling fast at $25 each.
