Australian Baroque is one of the country's newest early music ensembles, and it has a quirky concert coming up in Perth which is really the cat's whiskers.
The ensemble is presenting its very series of Cat Concerts on January 31 and February 1 at Subiaco Arts Centre.
Concertgoers get to cuddle a kitten while immersing themselves in the amazing sound world of the 18th century.
"Partnering with cat havens across Perth, these concerts hope to partner lonely kittens with people who need that special fluff ball in their lives. It will be impossible not to fall in love," said Australian Baroque spokeswoman Sarah Papadopoulos.
The concert - which is part of Fringe World - will feature theorbo player Matthew Jones, flautists Robin Hiller and Andy Skinner, violinist Helen Kruger and cellist Sophie Curtis.
On January 23, soprano and baroque specialist Sara Macliver presents a program of Handel's German arias at WAAPA Edith Cowan University and on January 24 there's A Feast of Bach: Brandenburg V and Triple Violin Concerto concert at the same venue. The concert will include a program of JS Bach, showcasing musicians including James Huntingford on harpischord and Robin Hiller on baroque flute.
