The noise. The colour. The drama. The VAR. The BLOODY VAR. The karate kick. The heartache. The Jets, 12 months after collecting the wooden spoon and playing in their first grand final in a decade, crashed to 1-0 loss to Victory. The feel good story of the A-League was unable to pen the final chapter. Victory's winner - a goal by Kosta Barbarouses in the 9th minute - should have been scrubbed out. Replays showed that Victory defender James Donachie was offside when he headed the ball across to the Kiwi but there was a malfunction with the system and the VAR did not over-rule.
2 Round 22, 2017-18 Jets 2 Sydney FC 1, McDonald Jones Stadium
A spine-tingling flyover by three F18 Hornets set the tone. A 10-man Jets outfit, spurred on by a raucous home crowd of 18,156, outgunned Sydney FC 2-1 in a famous win. When Jets striker Roy O'Donovan was sent off in the 14th minute, all hope seemed lost. With the scores locked at 1-all, against all odds, Andrew Nabbout, appearing in his last game for the club before heading to Japan, produced another long-range wonder goal.
3 - Rd 27, 2017-18 Jets 8 Mariners 2, Central Coast Stadium
Having lost three straight, the Jets exploded back into peak form, inflicting a record-breaking, humiliating, 8-2 mauling of the Mariners in Gosford. The smash-up was the Jets' biggest win over their fierce rivals, eclipsing the 5-1 rout in round one. With teetotalling CEO Lawrie McKinna skolling a beer, the Jets faithful lobbed wooden spoons onto the ground.
4 - Preliminary Final, 2018, Jets 3 City 1
Oh my goodness! Oh my Goodness! With a flick of his right foot, Riley McGree sent a stadium into delirium, sent the Jets on the way to the grand final, and sent social media around the world into overdrive. Not bad for a moment the 19-year-old admitted was part improvisation, part luck and part gamble - but the scorpion kick will go down as one of the most breathtaking moments Australian football has seen.
5 - Exhibition game, 2011. Jets 2 LA Galaxy 1
It was close to the perfect night. David Beckham played 90 minutes, the Jets beat the Galaxy 2-1 and the former England captain even took his shirt off.
