A street record has been set with the fast $2.6 million exchange of 9 Stanley Street in Merewether prior to it going to the full market. First National Newcastle City were set to launch the renovated Californian Bungalow with a pool to the public market next Monday but agent George Rafty reported it had sold within days of being released to their database.

Mr Rafty described the $1.415 million exchange of a renovated home at 3 Bridge Street in Hamilton after 11 days on the market as "an amazing price".
The guide was initially set at $1.15 million to $1.25 million then adjusted to $1.25 million to $1.35 million after over 100 people went through the property's first open house. According to APM data, it is the first sale over $1 million for Bridge Street.

In New Lambton, First National sold a three-bedroom brick home at 18 Regent Street for $937,500 after its first open last Saturday. It had a guide of $790,000 to $850,000. And a two-bedroom, top-floor unit at 3/10 Helen Street in Merewether sold at the top of its guide for $750,000 after four days on the market.
At the other end of Merewether's market, Robinson Property sold a contemporary residence at 30 Curry Street for $3.85 million to a Sydney buyer. Walkom Real Estate sold a five-bedroom, 1840s terrace at 81 King Street in Newcastle for $2 million before auction.
