The catch and release tournament will be held on November 7-8 with an amazing range of prizes on offer.
"Ex-Test cricketer Merv Hughes runs a fishing shop in Victoria and is supporting us, as is John Paul Young, Jimmy Barnes and Ash Barty with signed merchandise," club spokesperson Ian Guy said.
"One supporter is a NZ firm called "Catch" and they're providing a number of lure prizes.
"Peter de Yong, from Bowen in Queensland, is providing a tail fin water rail as a prize worth over $200.
"There's also a binary watch from Disney on offer.
"It's amazing what you can get if you just ask."
Entry is free and there will be two divisions.
"Division 1 is for local anglers who want to attend in person over the two days," Ian said. "Division 2 is for those further afield or who don't want to attend in person.
"You fish in teams of four with anglers 16 years and under to be supervised by at least one adult.
"You can fish anywhere and record everything on brag mats."
Organisers already have competitors signed up from places like Mooloolaba in Queensland, Victoria and Northern NSW.
"Last year we had about 50 anglers and we're hoping to better that this year," Ian said.
"We're being heavily supported by local councils and politicians and have completed a full risk assessment and had it approved."
Organisers will also hold a major raffle with proceeds going this year to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
"We think the junior teams event is a great way to attract young people to fishing and promote Lake Macquarie far and wide and hopefullly draw them to the area once Covid restrictions lift," Ian said.

Brad is glad
Brad Morton took overall honours at last weekend's Charlestown Anglers Fishing Club October outing, bagging seven species in his total of 12 fish, just ahead of second-placed Mark Redman, who also got a great bag.
Chloe Skinner, stepping up from juniors, took out the women's section.
Bastain Kelleher, featuring in his first club event, and Macy Skinner saluted in the junior boys and girls divisions respectively.
Tailor was the bonus species but members report they were few and far between over the weekend.
More action was to be had with kingfish round Swansea bridge, club spokeman Troy Terrill said.
"Brad ended up landing two nice kingfish all by himself and his arms were going everywhere trying to move boat and reel in fish," Troy said.
"I gave Jodi (wife) my rod to give her a chance to land one and when we got close to the bridge the rod was bent over and she hooked onto one but SILLY husband forgot to tighten the drag up so it screamed under the bridge and by the time I got to tighten the drag she was busted off.
"Didn't leave empty handed though as I got a cracker flattie while a kingy tried to get it on the way up."
Brad also landed a huge 46cm whiting and a 42cm bream in the lake on the Saturday before heading up to Broughton on Sunday to catch a few reds, with fish round the 2-3kg range.
Jas Skinner and daughters Chloe and Macy had a big day on the lake with the girls finally getting some nice flathead, bream and tailor.
The club's next outing will be the weekend of November 13-15 at Croudace Bay boat ramp.
Wangi RSL salute
Wangi RSL took out the Lake Macquarie Combined Fishing Clubs tournament held last weekend.
Fishing warms up
Flathead are coming alive in local estuaries as the mercury continues to rise, according to Paul "Ringo" Lennon, from Fish Port Stephens Estuary Charters.
"We got a heap through the week with a couple over the 80cm mark," Paul said.
"There's a few whiting starting to show up on the beaches. Lob some live worms in a good gutter and you'll do well. Good snapper around the islands out the front and there's been the odd jewie caught outside in the deeper water as well. Calypso and Pacific Blue Charters have been getting into them this week, as well as the odd nice red.
"There's a few bonitos getting around off the point at Tomaree, which heralds the arrival of the summer pelagics.
"And there's been some quality bream coming off local rock walls."
