A price guide has not yet been set but the coveted property is expected to be capable of surpassing the $4.25 million record set for Belmont and the eastern side of Lake Macquarie for another luxury waterfront property on Ross Street over 12 months ago.
Built in the 1990s as the dream home of the current owners, the property is a unique offering. It has historic links to Newcastle with a design around reclaimed timber beams from Hinton Bridge and Queens Wharf. Wall-to-wall glass maximises the lake views and a wet edge pool runs from the front of the house to the lake.

Open plan kitchen and living extends to an entertaining deck or the pool. The home is set on a 925 square metre block. It features a luxury, top-level parents' retreat, three further bedrooms, a double garage, a workshop/boathouse with slipway, private jetty, wine cellar and downstairs studio.
"It's a house that might hit the market once in 20 years, and it's an iconic one," Mr O'Doherty said.
"When we launched it, the locals knew it straight away. How many pools can you swim to an infinity edge and look at the whole lake? The best way to describe it is a bit of a show-stopper.
"It's a beautiful waterfront home on a beautiful waterfront block. There's only probably half a dozen of these on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie."
Joshua O'Doherty, of LJ Hooker Belmont, is marketing the four-bedroom residence at 144 Ross Street through an expressions of interest campaign. Viewings Saturday are by registration.
