A Melbourne lawyer accused of reversing his car into a woman after she got off a tram in the city has been committed to stand trial.

Liam Murray, a senior associate, faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday where he pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving causing death over the May 2022 crash.
He was reversing his car down Flinders Street, near Highlander Lane, about 9.30am on May 26 when he hit a 44-year-old Richmond woman.
Police allege Murray reversed up to 30 metres down the busy road before striking the pedestrian, who was crossing the street after getting off a tram.
The court was told she suffered two impacts during the collision.
A man who had also just disembarked from a tram said after she was struck, he saw the woman's body get lifted on to the top of the car and then hit the road.
He said there were no pedestrian lights nor a zebra crossing at the tram stop.
Another witness, who was waiting for an Uber at the time, said the car was reversing down the road on an angle when it hit the woman.
The victim suffered serious injures and was taken to hospital, where she died about two weeks later.
Murray was arrested at the scene and then charged about four months later.
Magistrate Malcolm Thomas committed Murray to stand trial in the County Court, after finding there was enough evidence for a jury to potentially convict him for dangerous driving causing death.
The magistrate expressed his sympathies to the victim's family.
"The court acknowledges the pain and suffering they are going through," Mr Thomas said.
"And how difficult it is to hear about a loved one in these circumstances."
Murray, who remains on bail, will next face court for a directions hearing on April 27.
