A man who on Thursday pleaded guilty to stabbing his brother during a drunken fight in Burnie, north western Tasmania, used the property's driveway as a toilet after he was locked out of the house.

Samuel John Craig Heald, 25, originally from Smithton, was staying at his brother's place when a drinking session on February 16 turned nasty.
Heald wanted a lift to the Menai Hotel but his brother refused because he was drunk and did not want to drive.
After a violent tussle, Heald went to he kitchen and came back with a knife. His brother was left with three open wounds to his shoulder area.
The court was told Heald was finally pushed out the door of his brother's house and the door locked behind him.

The court was told Heald was found by police in the driveway. The knife used in wounding was found nearby next to a pile of human waste left by Heald because he had been locked out of the house.
The court was told Heald had been without stable accommodation since he was a teenager and suffered from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and was off his medication at the time of the incident.
He told police in an interview the stabbing would not have happened if he had not been so intoxicated.
Justice Tamara Jago has sent Heald to be assess for supervision or community service orders before she sentences him on August 17.
