Macquarie Anglican Grammar School’s production of Shrek The Musical JR opens on Friday night but its cast has already received a standing ovation. Headmaster Craig Mansour and the school’s drama teacher and musical director Julia Marshall heaped praise on the 100 students from Year 1 to Year 12 rehearsing at Henderson Hall on Wednesday, along with a band made up of students and teachers and about 30 behind-the-scenes helpers. Mrs Marshall singled out the contribution of Wusulu Yamba, Tim Mansour and Elizabeth Watterson who play Donkey, Shrek and Fiona, respectively. “Our leads, in particular, have really taken up the responsibility of helping us create a family among the cast,” the director said.
