Ms Wilson, who prosecuted the likes of disgraced former politician Milton Orkopoulos and paedophile priest John Denham, was appointed as senior counsel last year after taking a promotion within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to appear predominantly in the Court of Criminal Appeal.
Attorney-General Greg Smith said Ms Wilson had been practising criminal law for 24 years after graduating from university.
She has appeared in the High Court and was previously seconded to the public prosecutor in Vanuatu.
In 2008 she prosecuted the Labor minister Milton Orkopoulos for drugs and sex charges.
In 2010 she prosecuted Catholic priest and teacher John Denham for sexually abusing dozens of boys.
Ms Wilson has also written about human rights for judges in China and prepared a prosecution policy for legal staff in Vanuatu.
“I congratulate Ms Wilson on her appointment and wish her success in the next stage of her stellar career,” Mr Smith said.
Ms Wilson will be sworn in on April 28.
