Maintaining and improving our beautiful parks and playgrounds across the City is a priority for Council so our community can continue to enjoy our outdoor spaces now and into the future. Some of our residents may have heard that we are planning for an exciting new recreation precinct at Thomas H Halton Park, located at Croudace Bay, which is a popular site for social and family recreation activities.

Potential upgrades for the park could include a dog agility area (a first for Lake Macquarie), outdoor gym equipment, running loop, cycling connections, BMX track, disc golf course, learner bicycle circuit, improved amenity blocks, picnic areas, a new playground and upgraded skate park.
Use our online mapping tool at haveyoursaylakemac.com.au/thomas-h-halton-park and tell us what you value about the park, what you would like to see improved and any ideas you have to help transform this important community facility. Council staff will also be popping up at the park in late June and early July ready to take your feedback. Your ideas and feedback will help us better meet the needs of the wider community.
Later this week, I’ll be celebrating the invaluable work that our local surf lifesavers do at our beaches every Sunday during the summer patrol season. The Awards of Excellence are an opportunity to acknowledge our surf lifesavers, and on behalf of the Lake Macquarie community, we say thank you.
