"I get very nervous but once I'm on stage, I'm at home," he said.
"I don't see the 'Buble' label as a bad tag. That's kind of what I want to be - the next Michael Buble."
Australia's Got Talent judges Dannii Minogue, Kyle Sandilands and Brian McFadden have spruiked Burrows' performances since his first audition, which aired in early May.
The 17-year-old from Kincumber on the Central Coast will compete in his semi-final on the reality show from 7.30pm on Prime7.
In between flying to Melbourne for shows, Burrows has been studying for his HSC, commuting to Chatswood High School and maintaining his trumpet and piano practice.
"I attend Chatswood High for their music program," he said.
As part of the school's band, Burrows has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and with Swing City at Taronga Zoo.
The son of a high school music teacher, Gemma Burrows, Burrows first performed aged six.
He plans to release a jazz album in the next 12 months thanks to his exposure on the popular reality show.
The teenager will compete alongside seven other acts tonight and only three acts will make it through to the finals.
Voting lines will be open to the public until noon on Friday.
