The school recently hosted a ‘Dress like a farmer’ day, and raised more than $3700 to support the Buy a Bale campaign.
“With other mufti days we generally raise around $500, but with this one we encouraged the students to donate what they could to support this worthwhile cause,” principal Karin Hird said.
“Our older students set class fundraising targets of $250 per class and proudly exceeded them. Families dug deep and the school raised $3712.”
Checked shirts and Akubra hats were popular, and some children even came dressed as farm animals. Children also learned some line dances, and after lunch gave an energetic performance to Boot Scootin’ Baby.
