Strike force investigators from the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad arrested a 32-year-old man outside a hotel in Castle Hill about 11.30am on Saturday.
The arrests were in relation to two incidents earlier this month.
In the first, a man carrying a firearm entered a bottle shop in Winston Hills about 10.20pm on April 11.
It is alleged the man threatened staff before stealing cash.
Police will allege in court that the man also threatened patrons with a firearm before stealing cash at a Station Street venue in Waratah about 10am on Thursday.
Strike Force Yard detectives on Saturday searched a hotel room in Castle Hill and a Newcastle property.
Police said they seized several items including two guns, $6000 in cash and prohibited drugs. The items will be forensically examined.
The 32-year-old was taken to Castle Hill police station and charged with two counts of robbery armed with a dangerous weapon, drug supply and possession of a prohibited firearm.
He was refused bail to face Parramatta Bail Court.
Strike Force Yard's investigations are ongoing.
