A man will face court again at Lake Macquarie later this month over the alleged sexual abuse of a child.
Shane Riley, 45, was excused from personally appearing at Toronto local court on Tuesday where charges against him were briefly mentioned.
Mr Riley was arrested at a Cooranbong address last Thursday after a police investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a five-year-old girl.
He was charged with intentionally carry out sexual act with child under 10 years, intentional incite child under 10 years to do sexual act to them, and intentionally sexually touch child under 10 years.
Mr Riley's solicitor did not apply for bail on his behalf on Tuesday afternoon.
Magistrate Ron Maiden adjourned the matter to October 22 at Toronto local court.

A MAN will face court in Lake Macquarie on Tuesday charged with the sexual abuse of a five-year-old girl.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad launched an investigation in August after reports a man had abused a child.
On Thursday they arrested a 45-year-old man at a Cooranbong address after extensive inquiries.
He was taken to Toronto Police Station and charged with intentionally carry out sexual act with child under 10 years, intentional incite child under 10 years to do sexual act to them, and intentionally sexually touch child under 10 years.
He was formally refused bail in Toronto Local Court on Thursday to re-appear at the same court on Tuesday.
The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is made up of detectives with special training to deal with matters including sexual assault, serious physical abuse and extreme cases of neglect against children and adults.
