EDGEWORTH's Wade Neilsen says it feels "amazing" to have made his professional debut in Billy Elliot The Musical after months of rehearsals.
"It feels amazing to put it all together with the cast and on stage with props and stuff," Wade, 12, told the Newcastle Herald.
"It's an adrenaline rush."
Wade shares the lead role with Omar Abiad, River Mardesic and Jamie Rogers and has been performing twice a week since his October 10 debut in front of an audience that included his parents, older brother and younger sister.
"It was a bit nerve racking, but then mostly all adrenaline," he said.
"It was so cool hearing the audience for the first time laughing, crying and cheering for you."
Wade, who started his dance training at Susan Shiner Dance Academy at five, said learning how to act was "a bit tough at first, but comes more naturally as you go on".
