The opportunity across both developments has been met with strong interest since hitting the market, according to GWH sales and marketing manager Matt Waddell.
121Elder comprises 15 apartments on the site of the former Snake Gully Hotel. It is a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, which he said have sold well to mainly owner-occupiers. Only two residences remain. The development also includes three ground floor retail suites, fronting Elder Street, which have all been secured.
The businesses who have purchased the suites include the owners of the soon to be Elder St Pantry, set to bring locally sourced foods and many treats. Adjacent is local interior decorator Lisa Croese with Unique Living. The third suite has been purchased as an investment.
The remaining offering, 16 Grainger Street, is described as an exciting and unparalleled opportunity to occupy a brand new, stand-alone commercial building and to capitalise on what is an already established business community.
It is positioned with easy access to hospitals, the University of Newcastle and arterial roads. Construction is well underway at 16 Grainger Street with completion expected in late May.
Mr Waddell described 16 Grainger Street as an opportunity "to be seen, to progress and cement your business in a suburban business community that has stood the test of time". He said 16 Grainger Street could be adapted to suit the individual needs of the purchaser.
"We see a professional service in recruitment, finance or health would be ideal for this location as they would support and be well-supported by the businesses in Lambton and surrounding and well-connected areas," Mr Waddell said.
GWH is currently on site with residential developments Highpoint in Charlestown plus Sky Residences and Evolve Housing Project in the Newcastle CBD. Their commercial projects under construction include 9 King Street Warners Bay and they expect to be on site with Darby Plaza towards the end of the year.
