There were probably few happier than jockey Louise Day to see the final Provincial Championship qualifier added to Newcastle's meeting on Tuesday.

The Irish apprentice to top Newcastle trainer Kris Lees has the ride on Bubbles Ball in the heat over 1350 metres which was washed out at Wyong on Saturday.
Bubbles Ball, one of seven runners from the Lees stable, was a $7 TAB chance on Monday. Her most recent start was a fourth in the 1200m Gosford qualifier, which was also at Newcastle after being washed out. Series favourite Asharani won but Bubbles Ball finished well to narrowly miss third and a place in the $400,000 decider on April 11.
Her only other race on her home track was a win and Day was hopeful the long, wide straight would help Bubbles Ball overcome a likely start in gate 10 of 16.
Day is her trackwork jockey but will ride her for the first time in a race on Tuesday.
"It ran on really well when beaten by what looks the favourite for the championship," Day said. "She was finding the line strongly and she's going to really appreciate the 1350, back on her home track, too. The big, long straight is going to give her plenty of time to wind up.
"She's drawn a bit tricky but there's going to be strong speed outside and inside us, so we'll let that hot speed go and hopefully find cover midfield and let her be the strongest on the line.
"I ride her a lot at home and I couldn't be happier with her. She's not showing any signs of training off."
"She's been so honest this prep and she really deserves it."
The ride will be Day's second in a provincial championship heat.
Favourite for the race on Monday was Lees-trained Lifetime Quest at $3.80. The race is set down for 6.05pm.
Lees has already qualified Great Danger, Asharani, Enchanted Heart and Stella Sea Sun for the Randwick final (1400m).
