Under the name of L.M Queen, the proud Novocastrian has drawn on the influences of Depeche Mode, Ultra Vox and New Order to move away from his DIY garage-punk roots towards drum machines and an '80-inspired dark synth-pop sound.
S.M.A stands for "saddest man alive" and comes just weeks after The Gooch Palms announced they were disbanding after three albums and almost a decade of touring. The Gooch Palms' farewell tour throughout autumn was cancelled due to COVID-19 and new dates are yet to be rescheduled.
FUNKY CUSTARD
ICONIC '90s Brisbane guitar-pop band Custard will release their eighth studio album Respect All Lifeforms on May 22.
It'll be the third record since the Apartment, Music Is Crap and Girls Like That (Don't Go For Guys Like Us) hit-makers returned to the studio in 2015 after a 16-year break.
The first single Funky Again channels Custard's classic '60s pop song sound.
BOCELLI OFFER MUSIC OF HOPE
NOT many countries have felt the wrath of coronavirus more tragically than Italy.
Moved by the disaster unfolding in his country, world renown Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will deliver a solo performance at the historic Duomo, the cathedral of Milan, on Easter Sunday to raise spirits across the world.
"On the day on which we celebrate the trust in a life that triumphs, I'm honoured and happy to answer 'Si' to the invitation of the City and the Duomo of Milan," Bocelli said.
The performance will be live-streamed on Bocelli's YouTube channel, beginning at 3am on Easter Monday in the eastern states of Australia.
