The 19-year-old bookended the Menangle Park meeting with victories on Mafuta Vautin and Motu Gatecrasher for boss Craig Cross, after scoring with Never Know Charlie for Maitland trainer Paul Morgan at Newcastle on Friday night.
In between his wins on Saturday night, Callaghan drove the Michael Doltoff-trained Smoothe Style to fifth in a semi-final of the three-year-old fillies Breeders Challenge series.
It was enough to qualify for the $125,000 decider next Saturday night where Callaghan already has Lets Get Rockin for Doltoff in the two-year-old colts and gelding final.
"It will be a big night so hopefully they run good," Callaghan said.
"If they get nice, soft trips they should go really well. Just to run fourth or fifth, you get good money, and it's good just to be in those types of races."
Cessnock trainer Clayton Harmey's Big Black Diamond qualified for the three-year-old colts and gelding final with fifth but stablemate Major Bob was sixth in the other semi-final to miss out.
Callaghan was impressed with the run of Smoothe Style.
"She came along the fence and made a fair bit of ground on the leaders, and they got him on a 26-second quarter, so her quarter would have been real sharp," he said.
"Motu Gatecrasher, I've had a few wins on him, and a few placings in some bigger races, so he's been really good to me.
"It was a drop back in grade for him last night and he was able to dominate
"Mafuta Vautin [$17] has been flying and I couldn't really believe the odds he was.
"That was his third run since coming to Sydney. He was luckless at Newcastle and his previous run at Menangle was enormous.
"It was a good run. Not many horses have The Black Prince on their back and hold them off."
