Four heats of the 1-3 wins series were held and Impress Troy stamped himself as a top contender with a 6.25-length win in 22.19 seconds in heat two.
The Barcia Bale-Exciting dog speared to the lead from box seven and easily made it four victories in eight starts.
Litter brother Impress Lleyton earlier made it seven wins in nine starts for Mackay, leading from box one and clocking a slick 24.98 over 450m in a 6.75-length victory.
Aston Reward also won for Mackay, overcoming a poor start and early contact to claim the 565m 5th grade race by 1.5 lengths in 32.26.
Other heat winners were Suzie Nismo (22.57) for trainer Tony Mason, El Roller (22.72) for Shane Cartwright and Our Last Shot (22.78) for Matthew Capper.
Turlingah (Donald Andrews), American Magic (Ray Walters), Double Display (Evelyn Harris) and Phoenix Rules (John Callaughan) qualified for the final with second placings.
Suzie Nismo's win in the heats was part of a double on the night for Mason, who had Bonnie's Reward breakthrough at her third start to open the program.
