The group 1-winning hoop rode the first three winners at Newcastle on January 30 before the meeting was abandoned after race four.
On Saturday, Reith's treble came from Godolphin pair Bastaki and Iolanthe and Newcastle mare Dreaming Of Gold. This time the eighth and final race was abandoned after jockeys were concerned about a section of the track near the 400m mark. The track was downgraded from a Soft 5 to a Heavy 8 through the day as consistent rain fell.
Three-year-old Snitzel filly Bastaki resumed in the 900-metre maiden plate and was backed from $2.20 into $1.30. After a fast start, she sat outside leader Icanfly before surging clear halfway down the straight. Under hard riding, Bastaki held on to beat Morpeth mare Dragon's Beauty by half a length.
In contrast, Iolanthe was friendless with punters as an $8 chance in the 1400m maiden handicap. A daughter of Golden Slipper winner Vancouver, Iolanthe turned in an outstanding performance in her second start. The filly was three lengths behind the field early but Reith brought her to the outside at the top of the straight and she stormed to a length win.
Nathan Doyle-trained Dreaming Of Gold, near death after her last start in September, bounced back with a tough win in the 1200m class 1 handicap. The mare sat outside favourite Cadenabbia before taking over in the last 100m.
"She became ill and was on a drip," Doyle said.
"Her owners spent a lot of money to save her and they have been rewarded.
"She was about 90 per cent fit and will improve greatly after that run. Both her wins have been at Newcastle and we may have a crack at the Provincial Championships."
