Former Hamilton Marist brother William Francis Cable, aka Brother Romuald, pleads not guilty

FORMER Hamilton Marist brother Francis William Cable, also known as Brother Romuald, will face trial over alleged sex offences on a boy dating back to the early 1970s. The 88-year-old appeared in Newcastle Local Court via audio visual link from Silverwater Correctional Centre on Wednesday where he pleaded not guilty to four counts of indecent assault. They allegedly took place in Hamilton, Merewether and Myall Lake in 1971. The matter was adjourned to June 3 in the Newcastle District Court.
