Mr Fenton, 81, did not enter a plea to a misprision of a felony - failing to disclose a serious crime - and one count of accessory before the fact before the fact related to events in the mid-1980s.

He was supported in court by a small group of people and did not make a statement outside the court.

The matter was adjourned until March.
