With water temperatures peaking soon, the pelagic fishing is only going to improve.
Bonito and yellow tail kingfish have been the main inshore targets. Give Swansea bridge a try for yellow tail kings on live squid which can found in the lake.
Trolling lures around the head lands and inshore reefs for bonito is great fun on light tackle.
Heading out a little further there are some great dolphin fish being found the FADs and any other floating objects.
Game fishing has been hot on the lips of many as marlin numbers increase as the water temperature rises.
Yellowfin tuna have been adding some spice to offshore action as well.
Meanwhile, estuary fishing for bream, flathead and whiting has been great in Lake Macquarie and the Hunter River.
Plenty of anglers have been taking the trip up the highway in search of mackerel.
South West Rocks has been fishing very well.
Scotts Head as well as Grassy and Hat Heads have all been "going off", to quote some anglers on their return.
There have also been mackerel moving down to the Hunter and beyond.
