Milicevic announced on the weekend that he had signed for Victorian second-division club Dandenong City, for whom he played as a junior, when they were known as Chelsea Hajduk. The ex-Socceroo defender, now 35, was last involved in professional football in late 2013, when he trained with Perth Glory.
He appeared in 45 A-League games for Newcastle between 2009 and 2011.
After leaving the Jets, he joined Croatian club Hajduk Split, but injuries restricted him to just five games before he was released.
In a statement on social media, Milicevic said: “It's taken me 20 years to finally find my way back home to Chelsea Hajduk now known as Dandenong City. It's been such a beautiful time in my life reconnecting with all the people I grew up with. Thanks for the love and your open hearts.’’
