Wollar Village spokeswoman Bev Smiles was among those arrested at the Wilpinjong coal mine, the group said.
The mine lies north-west of Bylong.
The Wollar village group had blockaded the mine on Thursday morning with up to 25 protesters from about 5am.
Residents say they are opposed to owner Peabody Energy’s application to expand the mine towards their homes.
“"They have left us with no choice,” Ms Smiles said.
“We disrupted the Wilpinjong coal mine today because that is what this mine has done to our lives and our village.”
