English rock band Def Leppard, who last performed in Newcastle in 2008, will return to Australia with American sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson and their band Heart.
It will be the first time Heart, who rose to fame in the 1970s, has performed in Australia.
"You know what? It just never came together for us before. There were various plans throughout the years for us to come to Australia but there was always some reason why it fell through," Ann said.
Australian rock band Choirboys, whose hits include Run To Paradise and Never Gonna Die, will be the third band to join the tour.
Over the course of their career, Def Leppard has produced hits such as Pour Some Sugar On Me and When Love and Hate Collide.
They are touring on the back of their new live album Mirror Ball: Live and More.
Heart's debut album Dreamboat Annie reached the Aussie top 10 in 1976. Hits for the sisters include Barracuda and All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You.
The bands will perform on October 29 at Newcastle Entertainment Centre.
Tickets on sale through Ticketek from Monday July 18.
