Revitalising Newcastle has unveiled pictures and a video made from a 3D digital rendering based on the plans that construction crews are following.
The 20 second clip shows a tram travelling along the old heavy rail corridor from Newcastle Interchange, past Stewart Avenue.

The scene cuts to the tram passing the University of Newcastle’s New Space building on Hunter Street, before it pulls to a stop in the civic precinct.
It then shows the tram making its final stop on Scott Street, at Pacific Park.
Revitalising Newcastle program director Michael Cassel said it was a “powerful reminder of the end goal”.
“Our animations draw directly from the project design, transforming technical information into a lifelike representation of how the city will look once light rail is operating,” he said.
“Newcastle is on the cusp of realising the benefits of a major, transformative investment in the city.
“These designs are another reminder of how close we are to seeing these changes come to fruition.”
Work continues on Hunter and Scott streets, from Worth Place to Telford Street.
More than 1200 tonnes of concrete has been poured so far for the track slab.
The pour in the civic precinct began on Wednesday. Another 230 metres of slab will be down between Crown and Wolfe streets by the end of the month – including installation of east and westbound tracks.
Construction of the Honeysuckle and Crown Street tram stops will start next month.
