State of the art heart equipment in John Hunter Hospital's refurbished cardiac and vascular labs

The hospital’s refurbished cardiac catheterisation and interventional labs will allow clinician’s to review complex cases and reduce the need for surgical intervention.

“The new equipment is more reliable and is expected to meet the cardiac and vascular requirements at John Hunter Hospital for at least the next decade,” Hunter New England Health District chief executive, Michael DiRienzo, said. “Reliability and availability of this equipment is vital given the current medical approach to the immediate treatment of heart attacks is via cardiac catheterisation.”
