Glass Heart is Parsons’ fourth LP and evokes a darker atmospheric Americana than her 2015 breakthrough Drylands. Not surprising as it was largely written while she battled insomnia. Heart break is at the album’s core. Just ‘Cause You Don’t Want Me and Dream Find are upbeat polished pop, but Parsons gets more melancholic on the brooding Deadwood and Blame where she laments that “I blame your mother for every little thing.”
Glass Heart is an album of evocative songwriting capped off by Parsons’ warm and emotional vocals.
