Despite kicking at only 69 percent in 2018 and handing the job to winger Ken Sio at one stage after a wayward performance in Tamworth against the Tigers, Ponga has put his hand up to handle the role this season with the goal-kicking cupboard at the club dangerously bare.
New recruit playmaker Mason Lino is regarded as the best kicker in the senior ranks at the club but he is unlikely to make the top grade unless either Ponga or Mitchell Pearce is absent.
Levi has had some goal-kicking experience in the Knights lower grades in the past but hasn’t kicked for a number of years.
“I’ll obviously do my best if I get called on,” he said.
“I used to kick a little bit when I was in the younger grades, mostly because we didn’t have a real recognised kicker. I’m pretty familiar with it and think I go okay.
“A few of us have been doing a bit of practice and I think I’ve improved a lot so we’ll see what happens. I’ll definitely put my hand up.”

Knights coach Nathan Brown admitted goal-kicking is not one of the club’s strong points and has encouraged anyone willing to give it a go to practise.
“From what I’ve seen, Danny certainly looks like he hits them alright and we’ve got a few blokes like Barney [Mitch Barnett] who are doing some practice with Kalyn and Mason and Zac Woolford,” he said.
