AN alleged high-range drunk driver who crashed through a fence, rolled his car and landed upside down on the railway track at Dora Creek, forcing the closure of the busy Central Coast and Newcastle line for more than an hour, has appeared in court for the first time.

Thomas Henry White, 36, of Queen Street, Balcolyn, represented himself in Toronto Local Court on Tuesday charged with high-range drink driving, negligent driving and not giving his particulars to the owner of damaged property.
He did not enter any pleas and asked Magistrate Alan Railton if the matter could be adjourned for a week so he could obtain legal representation.
According to police, Mr White was behind the wheel of a Toyota Landcruiser that was travelling north on Main Road at Dora Creek about 7.15pm on February 10.
Police say the car left the road, hit a fence above the railway tracks, rolled, crashed through a fence and landed on its roof, blocking the railway line.
Police said Mr White was uninjured and he is accused of leaving the scene of the crash on foot without notifying anyone of the crash or the damage to the fence and railway line. Lake Macquarie police and officers attached to the Morisset police transport command were called and allegedly arrested Mr White in a nearby street.
He was breath-tested and allegedly returned a reading of 0.153 - more than three times the legal limit.
He was charged and his license was suspended on the spot.
