NEWCASTLE punk heavyweights Trophy Eyes will farewell rhythm guitarist Kevin Cross at Splendour In The Grass on Saturday.

Cross is the second founding member to leave the five-piece, who have attained worldwide success with their past two albums Chemical Miracle (2016) and The American Dream (2018).
In 2017 original drummer Callum Cramp left the band due to creative differences, but Cross said in a statement on Tuesday he was sad to leave his bandmates John Floreani (vocals), Jeremy Winchester (bass), Andrew Hallett (guitar) and Blake Caruso (drums).
"This hasn't been an easy decision but it is time for me to say goodbye to Trophy Eyes," Cross said. "I've made the decision to take a different direction in my life and career, also start a family.
"I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has supported Trophy Eyes. You all allowed me to see the world and do things I never thought was possible. I'm forever grateful."
Trophy Eyes' management said there were "no plans in place as yet" for Cross' replacement.

BATTLESICK AGAIN
WHEN The Mark Of Cain released their debut album Battlesick in 1989 the gloomy vocals and relentless, almost robotic, industrial rock sounded more like Joy Division than anything that was happening in the Australian scene.
Not surprisingly the Adelaide three-piece failed to catch fire. But as the '90s progressed and The Mark Of Cain found success, Battlesick became a cult classic.
To celebrate 30 years since the album's release founding members John and Kim Scott and current drummer Eli Green are preparing to perform Battlesick in its entirety, plus an encore set of their classic material.
The Mark Of Cain play the Small Ballroom on October 20.
SALTER BY THE FIRE
SINGER-songwriter Ben Salter is long-term fan of Dashville, so it's no surprise he's chosen the Lower Belford property as the final stop on his upcoming It Became A Thing Australian tour.
Ben Salter: Dashville Nights is scheduled for August 31 and will feature the founding member of Giants of Science, The Gin Club and The Wilson Pickers performing and participating in a Q&A, hosted by Maitland raconteur Ben Quinn. The ticket price includes camping at Dashville.
Meanwhile, Dashville is also gearing up to host The Bluebird Sings for the first time on July 27. The mini festival will raise money for Support Act, a charity organisation that provides support to artists, roadies and music workers in crisis.
The line-up so far includes Hunter alt-country artists Ben Leece, James Thomson and Johnston City, with more to be announced.

PORT Macquarie's biggest music party, Festival Of The Sun, will return to Macquarie Breakwall Tourist Park from December 12 to 14.
The all Australian line-up for the 16th edition of FOTSUN will be announced on July 25 at 12.30pm on Triple J before tickets go on sale from August 8.
