BEACH WATCH

Best to get in early for a surf while winds are still offshore ahead of another southerly change. Some good waves first up with the tide going high suiting most beaches. Small low to form in the Tasman and expect an increase. Swell South to S/E at t to 2m. Wind light N/W to West swinging South. The banks along the Bar Beach to Merewether stretch and off the Alley at Newcastle Beach are the best options. Merewether during the afternoon incoming tide. Dudley, Redhead and Frenchmans to the south. Birubi and One Mile up at Port Stephens. Southern corners sanding up and slight sweeps. Only swim at patrolled beaches in the flagged areas. Water temp 17C. - Dave Anderson
