Police have taken to social media to find two men wanted in relation to alleged malicious damage of a vehicle at East Maitland.

Port Stephens-Hunter officers posted footage on Facebook on Monday night depicting two men walking along Lawes Street.

A police spokesperson said on Tuesday morning the men were believed to have caused "significant damage" to the bonnet and windscreen of a Holden Captiva four-wheel-drive that was parked in Lawes Street at about 1am on August 29.
The footage does not show the men damaging any property, nor does it depict the damaged vehicle.
