That's the new Saturday routine for Cardiff-Boolaroo all-rounder Adam Winchester.
The 19-year-old recently started an apprenticeship at Belmont Golf Club, but has been able to continue his time in the Newcastle District Cricket Association first grade competition.
"I do work weekends but it's mainly in the morning so I've got enough time to get to cricket," Winchester said.
"It means early mornings and big days, but that's working life."
Winchester initially followed in the footsteps of his father Brett, playing juniors at Charlestown and making his debut in the top XI at the same club in 2016-17.
Last season he switched allegiances to University, featuring nine times for the Sea Dragons.
Winchester has now landed at Cardiff-Boolaroo, marking his third uniform in as many seasons.
The left-handed batsman and left-handed bowler, who can deliver both seamers and wrist spin in the same game, said he was "enjoying" his time at CBs and described the Pasterfield Sports Complex-based outfit as a "good club".
Cardiff-Boolaroo captain Matt Willett has relished having Winchester on board in 2019-20.
"He's very valuable for us," Willett said.
"Bowling wise he gives us a point of difference. Most of our attack is pretty similar being right-arm outswing, but he's a left-armer who swings it into the right hander.
"Plus he's bowled a bit of that [left-arm wrist spin] as well, which is handy because we're not that strong in the spin department at our club at the moment."
Winchester has three wickets so far this campaign, but it was his work with the willow that guided the CBs to a strong position on Saturday.
Cardiff-Boolaroo had been 2-28 when Winchester arrived at the crease.
"He laid us a really good platform, especially after losing two wickets before drinks," Willett said.
"I told him before he went out there - play you game, take your time and get settled in. It was a mature innings."
Waratah will resume day two at 0-2.
The CBs sit in a four-way share of fourth position on the ladder, having collected 16 points from their opening five one-day games.
Winchester has already played against former club Charlestown, taking 2-34 and scoring 15 in a 19-run win at his new home ground on October 19. Cardiff-Boolaroo lost to Uni last start.
