For 80 minutes at home in round five, the Jets had the better of the Glory. They led every stat and had a 1-0 lead only for Diego Castro to swoop on a loose ball in the six-yard box and slot home an equaliser.
Lesson learned, the Jets travel to Perth to take on the Glory for a second time on Saturday hellbent on grabbing a rare hin the west.
"It has happened to us in a few games," midfield enforcer Ben Kantarovski said. "We have dominated for large periods and had a lapse in judgement and lapse in character here or there. That is what we build on each week. We have to make sure we do it for 90 minutes. We know we are capable of it."
It is has been two years since the Jets last win in Perth, a 2-1 triumph.
As well as Castro, the Glory boast sharp-shooter Bruno Fornaroli and Socceroo Chris Ikonomidis.
"It is never easy," Kantarovski said. "That is every game. We have to make sure we go other and are ready to fight tooth and nail for the win. We did that a couple of years ago. We have to make sure we are up for it again."
Coach Ernie Merrick said he intended to "freshen up" the team after the listless 4-0 loss to Melbourne City.
Pat Langlois is a chance to come into reshuffled midfield and Bobby Burns appears likely to replace Johnny Koutroumbis at left back.
The Jets had played well in their previous 2-1 loss to Adelaide, which followed consecutive wins over Western united (1-0) and Western Sydney (2-0).
"It is good to have a short turnaround, we are straight back into it and don't have to dwell on it too much," Kantarovski said on the loss. "We looked back at the game and the areas we had deficits in defensively and in attack making sure we keep the ball better and we are a lot more structured in defence. "Give them nothing coming at us and take everything going forward. We have to focus on what we have been doing really well in games. Against City we weren't structured very tight defensively. We learn from that and carry on the good things we have been doing in games."
