Multiple Triple Zero (000) calls were received to report the fire at Edward and Lin's Kitchen - on the corner of Lang and Hampden Street - around 2.20pm.
Crews arrived on scene to find the restaurant well alight and worked quickly to contain the blaze.
Everyone inside the shop evacuated and was accounted for.
The fire reportedly started in the kitchen of the shop and spread to ducting.
"All in all it was a good save," FRNSW Inspector said.
Fire and Rescue, Ambulance NSW and NSW Police personnel were at the scene.
