The second announcement for the five-day festival features Tash Sultana, Ian Moss, Kev Carmody, Ziggy Alberts, Russell Morris, Briggs, Kim Churchill, Hiatus Kaiyote, Mama Kin Spender and All Our Exes Live In Texas.
With continued uncertainly surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, it remains unlikely that international touring will recommence before Bluesfest's return on April 1-5, 2021. Therefore organisers erred on the side of caution by booking an all-Aussie bill.
However, the initial announcement for Bluesfest featured international artists Bon Iver, George Benson, Patti Smith, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Kool & The Gang, The Gipsy Kings, The Wailers, John Mayall and Jimmie Vaughan.
"We are setting ourselves up to put on another great Bluesfest, albeit in a brand new way," festival director Peter Noble said. "There will be challenges, and we expect to be presenting a festival with a lower capacity and potentially outdoors in order to have a safe event."
LIFE ON HOLD FOR RUBENS
IT was always a foregone conclusion, but Sydney indie-pop band The Rubens have postponed their Live In Life Tour for a second time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Hoops hit-makers were supposed to be touring throughout the spring, which included a September 18 show at the University of Newcastle's Bar On The Hill.
The entire tour has been shifted to autumn 2021 which includes dates at Gerringong (April 3), Enmore Theatre - Sydney (April 16), Bar On The Hill - Newcastle (April 17), Shepparton (April 28), Launceston (May 22), Albury (June 9) and Warrnambool (June 10). New dates for the postponed Canberra and Bendigo shows are yet to be confirmed.
