Robbie Payne has re-signed with Lakes for another two years but the Seagulls coach is eyeing off an even longer stint in charge at the Newcastle Rugby League club.

Payne, who took over the reins at Cahill Oval this season, will now remain at the helm until the end of 2022 after recently extending his contract.
However, the former Lakes player and Illawarra representative seems keen to establish himself in the mentoring role.
"I'm very excited that the committee and club have put faith in me to be the head coach at Lakes United for the next two years," Payne said via the Seagulls' social media.
"Obviously that was one of my conditions to take the job on, that I really wanted it for two years so I can really implement some things over a period.
"Hopefully, if I can get to go again, all those things are in place for many years to come."
Round nine is now scheduled to be played this Saturday and Sunday.
