He found himself back in a Pickers uniform on the weekend, having returned home from Queensland Cup side Sunshine Coast and signing just prior to the June 30 deadline.
"It was 11th hour stuff. He's a very good player and a nice addition for us," coach Matt Lantry said.
Anderson lined up at right centre for Newcastle Rugby League leaders Maitland, who came from behind to beat last-placed Souths 24-16 at Townson Oval on Sunday and extend their winning streak to 11.
The 22-year-old Pickers junior made two appearances for the Falcons, who he joined this year.
Jarom Haines recently left Maitland for the Northern Hawks.
* NEWCASTLE Rebels representatives Matt Moon and Adrian Davis will be free to play their next club games after a ruling from the state governing body.
Macquarie's Moon and Cessnock's Davis have now served their one-match suspensions, despite teammates not actually taking the field.

* REID Alchin has been ruled out for three matches after taking early guilty pleas twice on charges from Kurri's 41-6 loss to Wests at Harker Oval on Saturday.
Alchin, who won't be available again until the second last round, was in got water for dangerous contact and a careless high tackle.
