An act of sportsmanship straight after making Games history.
In the thick of the action was Newcastle skateboarder Poppy Starr Olsen.
The 21-year-old, along with US competitor Bryce Wettstein, carrying Japanese skater Misugu Okamoto on their shoulders following the first ever women's park final.
Olsen and Wettstein had helped console the world No.1, who narrowly missed the medals in fourth having been unable to nail her three runs despite performing some impressive tricks.
"Misugu has put so much work in and she's won so many of the qualifiers, almost all of them, and I know she puts a lot of pressure on herself to compete and we all just wanted to let her know how much we love her," Olsen told AOC media after Wednesday's event.
"Everyone was supporting all the girls in the final, that's just kind of what skateboarding is about and it's really cool to showcase that to everyone watching."
Lake Macquarie City Council sent a message of support to Olsen.
"Watching Poppy soar through the park, giving it her all as she made history was incredible," they posted on social media.
"Watching her sportsmanship as she supported her fellow competitors goes straight to the heart of what it is to be an Australian champion. What a legend."
"It was crazy. My goal was to make the final," she said.
"The fact we made it here was a win in itself with the pandemic and everything that's happened. I was skating with my best friend Bryce and we both made it [the final], which was amazing, and so the fact I went and got fifth, put everything on the line, was awesome."
