Anyone who visited the ED between 8.40pm on Thursday, August 5 and 1.50am on Friday, August 6 is considered a close contact.
They must get tested and isolate for 14 days regardless of their symptoms and the test result.
NSW Health official Dr Jeremy McAnulty said two positive cases had visited the ED in the five-hour period.
If close contacts have not been contacted by NSW Health by SMS or phone call, they must call 1800 943 553.
Four new cases in the Newcastle local government area were announced in the Saturday update.
There have now been 13 cases recorded in the Hunter-New England Local Health District since Thursday, August 5.
